Mrs Nostalgic Kitchen Makeover

Hello lovely readers.  Happy New Year to everyone from me - Mrs Nostalgic Kitchen.
I live in a pretty little village and when we moved into our 1940's house I embraced it's open fires and quarry tiled floors and decorated my kitchen in a pretty country style. All very shabby chic vintage and pink flowers.

Five years on and my life has really changed.  I now sell vintage kitchenware for a living and as my life has changed so has my taste.  I've seen so many wonderful vintage kitchen pieces over the last couple of years that I have developed a new taste in kitchen style! I can't say it is of any particular era as it's a mix of 30's, 40's and 50's.  The plans have been made and my husband and I are going to restyle our kitchen over the next couple of months.  I've taken a couple of photos of my kitchen now and a couple of items placed around to give me ideas.

I'm going to paint the skirting boards light vintage green and add accents of yellow and green to the existing cream.  Here is the before and in a couple of months I'll post the after.....sooo exciting!!

Going to paint this yellow and put green handles on.

I've placed a few items around to see what I think

Might paint this chair same yellow as the frame I've painted behind on the wall.  The tea towel is a vintage tea towel I am using for inspiration.  Let me know if you've got any tips or ideas I can incorporate in my new nostalgic kitchen.

If you are re-styling your kitchen have a look on my website www.thenostalgickitchen.co.uk for some inspiring ideas and it's free postage on all UK orders in January so there is no excuse to get cracking!
