My creative Juices Are Flowing

I'm not crafty or clever and talented but I am full of ideas!!!  I had a very satisfying day yesterday when a few plans came together and I thought I'd share them with you.
I had seen pretty pin boards in shops and decided they were far too overpriced and that an equally lovely one could be made!  My need for one next to my desk grew and grew and so the time came to start a plan.  I was throwing an old frame out and my husband suggested I use it for my board!  Yes he is a treasure!  I ordered some foam and then never found time to paint the frame.  This is where my lovely mum stepped in and quickly slapped on some paint for me.  I bought some gorgeous french fabric from Wendy of Ticking Stripes at the Vintage Fair on Saturday and hey presto with a little help from my husband's staple gun here is the finished article!!  I love it and don't really want to stick pins in it!!!

My next project yesterday was to put a recipe on my website homepage.  I had sent out a newsletter stating that I was putting a recipe each month on my website and as the month was well underway thought I'd better get on with it.  The thing holding me back was that I had decided to make the item and take photos to accompany my recipe.  The recipe came from a cook book given to me by my husbands Grannie and dates from 1937.  The instructions are very general and so alot of guess work was needed.  Anyhow I managed the Victoria Pudding and if I say so myself the pictures look really good and it tastes even better.

I bought a Lloyd Loom Chair and Ottoman from a car boot sale on Sunday and had planned to do them up and sell on but have decided I can't part with them and so am going to paint the chair with weather protective paint and have it outside in my new pergola that my husband built for me - yes again he is a treasure!

I've got to recover the ottoman which will be more of a challenge!  Wish me luck and let's hope the creative juices keep flowing!!!

March Belongs To Chickens......

My girls just come to life again as soon as March arrives.  All winter they have been huddled in their house sheltering from the elements but now the weather has warmed up they are scratching and pecking all over the place.  I have put my chicken wreath on my door and the eggs have started appearing in the nesting boxes - Spring has definitely sprung.  I think some of my bulbs have survived but time will tell.

I have been doing my usual routine of gathering spring flowers in vases and jugs and putting them everywhere around the house to bring spring in.  Haven't managed to develop a spring cleaning routine but the flowers cover up and winter dust!!

I'm getting ready for my next fair in Northampton this week and have gots of new bits and bobs so will hopefully have an interesting stall.  I'm taking items that aren't on my online shop yet so the people at the fair get first dibs before the rest of the world sees them!

I hope it will be a fine spring day to bring lots of people in to look at all the wonderful treasures on offer by all the lovely sellers.  See you Saturday ....
